Killian's Welcome, by Killian
Welcome to Morgan's Tribe. This is a Valley of Maples and Oaks, with a winding river that runs throughout it called simply Leaf. The Valley is known by some as Leaf Valley, or Oak Valley, depending on who you talk to. I have always called it Acorn valley, for when I walk barefoot, I find myself cursing as I step on the hundreds of the little seeds of life, laying on the forest floor.
Morgan is our leader, or Queen. We have a connection that goes deeper than all time and space. I have finally found my home with her, here in Acorn Valley, under the watchful eye of the Great Mother, to whom I owe and dedicate my life.
Caitlin is Chief Warrior, and Captain of Morgan's Royal Guard. I am the Healer, and budding Shamaness for our Tribe. I belong to Caitlin in all human terms, but my spirit belongs to that of the Great Mother. I follow her will as if it were my own.
Morgan is in quiet retreat in the Circle of Oaks, and will make her presence known shortly.
It is good to be here. I hope you find it so as well.

Kaie prepares for Morgan’s Arrival, by Kaie
Well if our Queen Morgan will be arriving soon, then I say we don't have much time left but I will start gathering what we can for a proper welcoming feast to celebrate in style
~~Kaie
lyea has an idea
OOOhhhh. Good idea Kaie! Would you mind some company while we go foraging for food? What kind of food did you have in mind? I'd like to help!

Kaie and lyea make plans, by Kaie
Of course I don’t mind. Hmm I'd say a little of everything might do the trick LOL. Since this place is brimming with nuts and fruits and berries I can imagine we will have Grandmother’s Hut over flowing in no time. I think I'll leave the hunting to the others for now though.
Kaie
A day of fun, by lyea
lyea poked her head around the corner of Kaie’s open hut door.
"ppsst, Kaie!"
Kaie looked up and grinned at the little wood nymph, whose head barely reached higher than the door knob. lyea opened her hands and showed Kaie the nuts and now slightly smooshed berries she had found, coating her small hands in a reddish blue goop.
"Let's go get more," said lyea with a grin that made Kaie’s backside begin to ache in premonition. But she shrugged and said, "okay."
As the two ran off through the small woodland village and into the woods, there were some raised eyebrows and shaking heads, knowing full well that mischief was sure to follow.
The two girls walked along quietly for some time, looking up at the sunlight cascading lightly through the trees, listening to the birds sweet calls, and feeling more at peace than either had in a long time.
Suddenly lyea jumped ahead of Kaie and began to run toward the river, yelling over her shoulder, "race ya!"
"Hey!" yelled Kaie, setting off after the fleet footed nymph, determined to outrace her, her longer legs giving her an advantage.
Just as they got near the river, Kaie passed the slowing nymph and grinned at her as she flashed passed, ignoring the look of sly amusement in the nymph's eyes. And then she hit the muddy patch just beyond view, skidded slightly, and lost her balance. The nymph gave a loud laugh, ran up behind her, and let her slight body weight carry them both through the mud and into the water.
Sputtering, Kaie came up out of the water laughing. "What are you thinking? It'll take forever to dry off!" lyea shrugged her small shoulders and said, "Not if we lay out and dry off afterwards in the sun, right? There aren't any chores to do right now anyway." And then she splashed water back at Kaie with her small wings, which quickly brought on a splendid water fight, complete with good natured ribbing and lots of dunking and swallowed water.

A quick snack, by Kaie
Kaie paused outside the kitchen side of Grandmother’s Hut, and inhaled deeply as her stomach gave a mighty rumble. "Is that? Can it be? Oh yesssss nut bread, my favorite!"
Plopping down a basket of berries beside the sacks full of apples she glances at Lyea with a grin. "Well considering we spent half the day attempting to drown each other and the other half squishing in our clothes, I'd say we were pretty productive."
With a nod towards the pile of foraged goods she observed, "Add all this to the meat that will be hunted and we should have quite a welcome feast ready tomorrow."
"At least we picked a few more then we ate!" Lyea laughed as she wiped at the telltale berry stains on her lips.
Drawing the only slightly smaller then her short self little wood nymph friend in for a hug Kaie rubs her sore head ruefully and added, "Next time we pick apples though, I'll climb the tree and toss them down while YOU stay below and attempt to catch them in the sack."
Both women enjoyed a fit of laughter that caused several speculative glances to come their way as they walked away. They were just clearing the corner of Grandmother’s Hut when a voice caught up to them. "Hey! Who took the fresh loaf of damn nut bread off the window board?"
With a grin and wave to lyea, Kaie patted her bulging pocket and whistled her way towards the stables to tend to the horses content that her thieving skills were still intact.

The Arrival of a Samurai, by Chikara’ san
"Konnichi Wa or hello." A tall slender form wearing traditional Samurai armor bows slightly with hands on her thighs. "I am Chikara Shou or Chikara' san, a warrior trained in the arts of the Samurai. I intend to formally join the Tribe soon and offer my service in protection to the leader Morgan. My reasons for this will be revealed in the future but for now I walk among you in honor.
Chikara' san
Nessa Greets A Warrior, by Nessa
Welcome Chikara'san! My name is Nessa. How wonderful that you have joined us. We are in great need of one with your fighting skills and mental powers. Please come join us in Grandmother's hut for a cool drink and a rest from your journey. (Don't try the nut bread though). We will be of as much assistance to you in building your dwelling here as we can. Tell us what you will need. Again... Welcome
Nessa sat On the broad porch in one of the rockers Caitlin crafted. She saw the grand Samurai watching the playful women. The Japanese warrior obviously had her eye on Kaie. The Celt stood and walked to the edge of the stream where Chikara stood and said, "I will be happy to introduce you to the one without the wings, Chikara. Her name is Kaie. She is very beautiful isn't she? And very brave too."
Nessa felt the intensity of passion from this rather amazing warrior who turned her head slowly to look into Nessa's eyes. "I would like that very much." she said with the barest hint of a smile and a vast glow of light in her eyes.

Killian Meets the Samurai, By Killian
"Konnichi Wa, Chikara' san," Killian says as she bows in return to this beautiful tall warrior. "I am Killian, the Tribal Healer. Until Morgan arrives back among us later this week, allow me the pleasure of welcoming you to our lands, and our home. We are honored to have you among us. Won't you please feel free to make this your home as well. There is a large guest hut by the hot springs, that flow into the Leaf river. Perhaps Kaie here will escort you for me. You may build your own dwelling anywhere within our living parameters, at your will. Again, welcome. I am certain Morgan will be delighted to have a woman of your honor among her Royal Guard."

Kaie Sputters to assistance, by Kaie
"What? Oh! Me? Yes I mean me of course." Kaie blushes a deep red to find Killian and the dark beautiful Warrior staring at her expectantly, both wearing a faint smile. She'd lost herself in admiring the strange armor and incredible dark beauty of the woman before her. Of course Killian was used to her daydreaming by now and knew exactly what had her distracted.
"I'd be glad to show you to bed err..the Hut..the Hut, this way please."
With a grin Kaie lifts an odd shaped bag onto her shoulder and leads the new Warrior towards the guest hut, doing her best not to trip over anything while she admires the graceful but powerful woman before her.

The Arrival of Ashwin, by Ashwin
Sorry it took me so long to get here. My horse, Lash, faltered on the trail. *Looking up at lyea on Caitlin's shoulder* Nice to see you little one *smiling* It's good to be home; I assume you've set up home for us? *Noticing look on lyea’s face and winking at Caitlin* I look forward to settling in and getting to know everybody.
I am Ashwin, lyea’s butch, a Warrior from Lancashire (hence the white rose crest on my saddle), England. I look forward to sharing stories with everybody over tea in Grandmother's hut.
I tend to stay relatively quite. Please don't take my brooding personally. I have a past I am dealing with. You can rest assured I watch lyea and will not let her step out of line. If she needs swatting, let me know - I will be more than happy to swat on behalf of you all.
Ash.
Caitlin Greets Ashwin, by Caitlin
Standing, a tad red faced, with lyea on her shoulder.
"Ah, Hello Ash, my name is Caitlin, and I was simply givin' yer lass a ride to greet you. I do hope you don't mind."
Caitlin waited until she saw the smile on Ash's face. She continued,
"She is a free spirit this one, and I'm glad to know she will have one as capable as you to keep an eye out for her. I'm a believer in a good swat now and again."
Caitlin winked at Ash, who smiled slyly in return, while lyea wiggled on Caitlin's shoulder.
"I am the Chief of Warriors here at Morgan's Tribe, so if I think your little flit about needs some tending, I will be sure to bring her to you, when caught."
Caitlin felt the swift fluttering of wings as she gently lowered the wood nymph to her feet.
"Here she is. She is excited as all get out to see you here. Have a good time making yourself at home. We’ll look for you in a bit at Grandmother's Hut for a soothing drink."
Caitlin turned and left the two to reunite as they saw fit.

A new Arrival, by Nox
Nox, had ridden for more days than She could remember, towns and villages passing by, for the most part, unnoticed by Her. She did not know where She was going and as had been the case before, She didn't really care, as long as it was someplace new, someplace quiet and someplace where She could at last settle down. She had ridden past several places, but none of them held that feeling She knew She would have when She found the right place...the place the Gods intended.
Her mother had instilled a respect of the Gods/Goddesses in Her. She was even named after one. She had asked Her mother about Her name and was not quite sure whether it was a blessing or a curse.
Nox was one of the first born Gods, the personification of night and it was said that She rode across the sky in a two horse chariot drawing Her dark mists across the sky. She was the daughter of Khaos and the mother of light and day. One of the most ancient of Goddesses it was believed even Zeus held Her in awe and feared doing anything to offend Her.
To Her was attributed power over illness, suffering, dreams, misfortunes, quarrels, war, murder, sleep and death. In fact, anything inexplicable or frightening that befell men was attributed to Nox. She was said to occupy a palace in the lower world of the Greeks, together with Day. When Day entered the palace, Nox would ride out in Her black chariot drawn by two dark steeds, and accompanied by many stars, She would traverse the heavens until daybreak, then return to the palace. She was shown as a serious figure clad in black, on Her head a black star-spangled veil. She sported black wings, and carried two children in Her arms. One was black (Death), the other white (Sleep).
Her mother told Her that she had named Her such because She had been born in the dead of night with a raging thunderstorm going on outside...yet Her mother always made sure She knew that she thought it worth the many long dark hours. Since Her mother's passing, She had found She shared many things with the Goddess. She preferred the comfort and veil of night, could be extremely serious and moody, and was usually sporting black.
As Khaos carried Her over miles of terrain, She realized how tired She was of searching for a place where She could make a home. She gave Khaos a pat on his strong neck, he had been Her constant companion since he was a colt. She almost smiled at the memory of Her mother's reaction to Her naming the midnight black colt Khaos.
She was so lost in thoughts of the past, She almost rode right through that feeling She had been waiting for, that feeling that told Her that maybe, just maybe, this was the place She sought. She dismounted, tied Khaos' rein to a tree, gave him an apple, his favorite treat and walked into the area, wondering why there were yellow feathers here and there. She stood there, Her long muscular legs and backside thanking Her for the respite. She loved Khaos, but sometimes he was not the most gentle ride on the planet. She looked around for someone to see about lodging, for Herself and Khaos.

Killian meets a Mystery, by Killian
approached the tall, dark clothed rider. Her psychic senses felt some turbulence from this one, though no immediate threat. She would offer the Tribe’s hospitality.
Killian extended her hand to the woman, with pools of wonder for deep brown eyes.
"Welcome to Morgan's Tribe, friend. My name is Killian. I am the Tribal Healer, and I welcome you in Morgan's stead, for she is on spiritual retreat at the moment. I can offer you lodging in our group guest quarters, and make sure your horse is well cared for. Also, I am sure that you must be hungry after a full days ride."
Killian let it settle in with the rider that she indeed knew the traveler had ridden a full day to get here. Knowing Killian could read into your heart would serve to keep even the most wary of guests humbled and honest in their dealings with the Tribe. That would be all that would be asked of anyone. Killian called over Kaie and lyea, and asked them to help settle in the new guest. Lyea would show the traveler to her quarters, while Kaie took care of Khaos.
"We extend our full welcome to you, for a night, or longer, depending on your inner guidance. While lyea is getting you settled, oh, excuse me, I forgot to ask your name.
"Nox, good Lady, my name is Nox."
Killian smiled at this. Yes, turbulence indeed. "Well, Nox, I will see to a meal for you in Grandmother's Hut after you've had a chance to freshen up a bit. It will be waiting for you whenever you get there. Again, welcome to our home. We hope you like it here."
Nox bowed, taking Killian's hand and kissing it. "Thank you for the hospitality. I am most grateful."
Killian bowed, and walked off in the direction of the Grandmother's Hut, leaving Kaie, and lyea with Nox, knowing they would both be safe, for now.

Morgan Arrives - by Morgan
Morgan steps to the center of Grandmother’s Hut, where all have gathered for her arrival. “Hail all courageous ones! I have returned to feel such power and honor here in our Tribe. We are one as a forest is one. A forest is made up of individual trees as a Tribe is made up of individual women. We have the bond of our Tribe and we are different. I hold you all in the highest esteem. We have no war here on this Island of Eire. Though adventure is left to your own delicious imaginations.
Some may not know what a Fianna is. I will explain. It simply means one who lives on as Spirit of the warrior in all women. I have lived through the ages before metal was forged and our people were ignorant and had only curiosity to drive them. I have lived through times when that curiosity was quenched like the thirst it was by a wisdom that came to our Druids. I have been with Cartimandua who turned on our people and went with the Romans. I have seen my brother, Caracticus' head rammed on a Roman spearhead. I rode with Nessa on to Boudicca who fought the Roman enemy to her own dying breath. I have searched for my sister Killian and heard the call of the Mother Oak telling of Killian's presence here on Eire.
It is time for peace. We have all seen too much war. We will have a great banquet in honor of our survival and our thriving.
There is much love for you here.” ~
Morgan
